Darlene Clayton Becomes Bride Of Dana McHatten

WASHBURN. Feb. 19 [1952] -- Miss Darlene Clayton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Athil Clayton and Dana McHatten, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley McHatten of Mapleton, were recently united in marriage at the home of the officiating clergyman, the Rev. Read Blackstone of Perham. The double ring ceremony was attended by relatives of the couple.

The bride wore a navy blue suit with navy accessories and complemented her outfit with a white split carnation corsage. Miss Lorraine Anderson, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. She was attired in tan suit with brown accessories and her corsage was of yellow jonquils.

The best man was Dale McHattan, brother of the bridegroom. The bride's mother wore a navy blue dress and her corsage was of yellow roses. Mrs. McHatten wore navy blue with navy accessories and an iris corsage.

A reception was held in the evening at the Castle Hill grange hall attended by approximately 150 people. The wedding cake was made by the bride's mother, Mrs. Clayton, and cut and served by Mrs. Pauline Anderson, aunt of the bride, after the first slice had been cut by the bridal couple.

The gift table was in charge of Mrs. Delores Woodman, sister of the bride, Mrs. Dorothy McHatten and Miss Maxine McHatten. Miss Betty Lou Anderson, cousin of the bride, circulated the guest book.

The bride is a graduate of Washburn high school and is employed at the Western Union in Presque Isle. The bridegroom is a graduate of Mapleton high school and is engaged in farming with his father. Mr. and Mrs. McHattan are residing in Presque Isle.
