MRS. IRA G. DAY, JR.
The Rev. Philip C. Hughey, Sr., of the United Baptist Church of Presque Isle officiated at the double ring service.
Mrs. Wilmont Churchill, organist of the Conservative Baptist church of Washburn, played the traditional wedding marches and incidental music.
Ronald Dow of Perham sang "I Love You Truly" and "Because" accompanied by Mrs. Churchill.
BRIDE WEARS WHITE
The Bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a full length gown of white slipper satin and chantilly lace, en train, fashioned with nylon yoke circled with a lace ruffle, fitted bodice, long pointed sleeves. The skirt had a lace ruffle starting at the waistline in front and ending in a vee in the back. Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion fell from a puliette open work cap of seed pearls and rhinestones. She carried a white Bible with a single dahlia and white satin streamers.
Mrs. George Doody, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Her gown was of orchid nylon organdy embroidered in white, fashioned with a fitted bodice and full skirt, with a shoulder length veil attached to a flowered headdress. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses.
Miss Carolyn Peary, sister of the bride, and Miss Alice Harris, classmate of the bride, were bridesmaids.
Miss Peary's gown was of pink tulle over taffeta, fashioned with short puffed sleeves, low neckline and pointed sleeves. She carried a bouquet of pink gladioli and wore a flowered headband.
Miss Harris's gown was of yellow tulle with net yoke, and a fitted bodice. She carried a bouquet of yellow gladioli and wore a flowered headband.
George Doody, friend of the bridegroom, was best man. Clifton Chamberlain and David Flewelling, classmates of the bridegroom, were ushers.
FLOWER GIRL
Judy Earle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frazien Earle of Woodland, was flower girl. She wore a floor length gown of pink satin fashioned with a full skirt with hoop and a ruffle around the yoke and skirt. She wore a flowered headband in her hair.
Darryl Peary, brother of the bride, was ring bearer.
The bride's mother wore a navy blue silk crepe dress with white accessories and a corsage of red roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a rose two-piece dress suit with white accessories and yellow roses.
The church was beautifully decorated with baskets of garden flowers and white tapers at the windows.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at, the Advent Christian Mission building which was decorated in pink, blue, yellow and orchid, the colors of the attendants dresses.
The four-tiered wedding cake was made and served by Mrs. Sheldon Peary, aunt of the bride, assisted by her daughter, Miss Louise Peary. of Presque Isle, after the first traditional slice was cut by the bridal couple.
AT RECEPTION
Mrs. Frederick Tarr, aunt of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Miss Norma Locknor, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Joan Thompson, cousin of the bride, presided at the gift table.
The bride chose for traveling, a suit of orchid and yellow check with orchid accessories.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn high school class of 1952 and is employed by Verne Beverly at the Extension Office in Presque Isle.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Washburn high school in the class of 1951 and is employed by Alden Crouse in Crouseville.
Following a short honeymoon, the couple will reside in Washburn.
