Lynette Kidney Bride At Washburn

WASHBURN, Aug. 20 [1952] -- An attractive wedding was solemnized recently when Miss Lynette Joan Kidney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kidney, became the bride of Howard Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson of Perham. The double ring ceremony was per formed by the Rev. Ethel Sinclair, pastor of the Pentecostal church at the parsonage.

Attendants were Miss Lorraine Anderson, friend of the bride, and Llewellyn Kidney, brother of the bride.

The bride wore a white nylon dress, street length, with stand-up collar, and buttoned to the waist, and full skirt. She wore a Dutch style cap of white lace and white nylon gloves. She complemented her attire with a corsage of red roses.

Miss Anderson wore a blue sheer dress with white accessories. Her corsage was of bronze Clamelias.

Mrs. Kidney, mother of the bride wore a dress of orchid nylon with purple trim and white accessories. She wore a corsage of shaded purple sweet peas.

Mrs. Johnson, the bride's mother, wore a navy blue print dress with white accessories and her corsage was shaded pink sweet peas.

Mrs. James Kidney, grandmother if the bride, wore a print dress with white accessories and she complemented her dress with a sweet pea corsage of mixed colors.

RECEPTION

Following the wedding a reception was held at the community recreation center. Mrs. Verna Curtis, sister of the bridegroom, circulated the guest book.

Presiding at the gift table were Mrs. Joyce Corey and Miss Elizabeth Tilley.

After the traditional first slice was cut by the bridal couple; the bride's cake was served by the bridegroom's sister-in-law, Mrs. Harry Johnson of Perham who presided at the refreshment table.

Hostesses were Miss Barbara Libby, Miss Persis Boyle and Mr. Patricia Tarbox.

The bride attended school in East Corinth and Washburn high school. The bridegroom attended schools in Perham and Caribou. He is presently employed on the Owen Smith farm on the state road.

After the reception, the bridal couple left on a wedding trip of an unannounced destination.

There were approximately 125 guests present at the reception.
