WEDS AT WASHBURN -- Mrs. Leroy J. Dickinson, above, is the former Miss Anita Mae Dahlgren, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ricker Dahlgren, Washburn. The bride-groom, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dickinson, Wade. The wedding took place in the First Baptist church at Washburn.
The Rev. J. Wesley Stuart, pastor, performed the double ring ceremony. Mrs. William Foster, church organist, played the wedding music. The Rev. Ruben Martin, pastor of the Conservative Baptist church sang "I Love You Truly" and "I Walk Beside You."
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a gown of satin with net overskirt caught with flower medallions. The waist was of lace with a yoke bordered with flower medallions. A finger-tip veil of nylon illusion fell from a tiny brimmed hat bordered with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white gladioli tied with white satin streamers.
Mrs. Vaughn Brewer, Caribou, friend of the bride, was her only attendant. Her gown was rose taffeta trimmed with a lace collar and she wore a headband of matching rose. Her bouquet was rose and white poms.
Donna and Joan Dickinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Dickinson, were flower girls. Their
dresses were of blue taffeta with floor length full skirts and they wore matching ribbons with tiny
poms attached on each side.
Arthur Bezanson, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was his only attendant. Ushers were Leland
Dahlgren, brother of the bride, and Vaughn Brewer of Caribou.
Mrs. Dahlgren, mother of the bride, wore a dress of hunter green with matching accessories and corsage of yellow roses.
Mrs. Dickinson, the bridegroom's mother, wore a plum colored dress and gray accessories. She complemented her costume with a yellow rosa corsage.
RECEPTION
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church dining room.
Mrs. Garth Good, Mars Hill, sister of the bridegroom, was in charge of the guest book. At the gift table were Miss Lois Learnard and Miss Glennis Silver. Presiding at the punch bowl was Mrs. Victoria Wilder, assisted by Mrs. Vaughn Dickinson and Mrs. Milton Crouse. The wedding cake was made and served by Mrs. Quentin Jardine assisted by Miss Ruth Jardine after the traditional first slice was cut by the bridal couple. Assisting in serving were Mrs. Carroll Wilder, Mrs. William Haines, Mrs. Linwood Peary, Mrs. Hanford Duncan and Mrs. Ernest Sponberg.
Mrs. Dickinson is a graduate of Washburn high school and attended the Aroostook School of Commerce. Mr. Dickinson attended Washburn high school and served in the armed forces. He is engaged in farming in Wade.
For traveling the bride chose a dress of powder blue trimmed with navy. Her coat was blue and she wore red accessories. A corsage of white poms completed her costume. After a wedding trip to Washington, D.C., the couple will reside at 14 Hines street.
