Washburn Girl Weds In Illinois Ceremony

WASHBURN -- Miss Janet Marie Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Walker, Washburn, recently became the bride of Airman Second Class Richard W. Cooley, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Cooley of Galesburg, Ill. The Rev. Glen Leathers officiated at the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with baskets of white snapdragons and candelabra.

The bride's gown of chantilly lace was fashioned with fitted bodice, having a Peter Pan collar and long pointed sleeves. The bouffant net skirt, made over satin, had lace panel inserts. A cap trimmed with seed pearls held the illusion fingertip veil. The bride carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid.

Miss Beverly Jean Cooley, the bridegroom's sister, as maid of honor, was attired in a full skirted blue lace gown with matching bolero. She carried pink carnations. The flower girl, Janet Kay Dugger, was gowned in a blue satin dress trimmed with net.

St. First Class Robert H. Cooley was his brother's best man.

A reception followed the ceremony in the church dining room.

Mrs. Cooley graduated from Washburn High school in 1950 and has been employed in West Palm Beach, Fla. Mr. Cooley is a graduate of Galesburg High school in 1948 and has just returned from a year's service in Korea.

The young couple will reside in Oklahoma City, Okla., where Airman Cooley is to be stationed.
