The double ring ceremony was preformed by the Rev. Edward Skane of Bridgewater with the bride given in marriage by her father.
White gladioli and candelabra decorated the church for the wedding. "Because" and "With This Ring" were sung by Mrs. Edward Skane accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Harris and the Rev. Donald Bickford sang "Submission."
Miss Alice Harris was the maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Mary Peters, sister of the bridegroom and Miss Jeanette Gregg.
Marvin Barnes, brother of the bride was best man with the Rev. Ernest Drost of Monticello and Ernest Ricker of Littleton as ushers. Amelia Doak was the flower girl and Robert Cameron, Jr., was ring bearer.
The bride was lovely in a gown of white net over satin. The bodice of Chantilly lace was styled with long pointed sleeves and the full skirt was in ballerina length. Her fingertip veil of nylon net, fell from a cluster of orange blossoms and lace and she carried a white Bible with pink roses, white sweet peas and satin streamers.
The maid of honor wore a gown of yellow nylon net over taffeta in ballerina length. Her headpiece was of lavender nylon net and she carried a colonial bouquet of sweet peas with nylon net to match her headpiece. Miss Peters wore pink nylon net in ballerina length gown of blue headpiece and Miss Gregg wore a ballerina length gown of blue nylon net over taffeta with pink
headpiece. Both carried colonial bouquets with nylon net to match their headpieces. The flower girl was gowned in aqua and pink and the ring bearer wore a white suit.
The mother of the bride chose a grey taffeta dress with red and black accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore a kelly green suit with white accessories. Both accented their ensembles with corsages of American Beauty Roses and baby's breath.
White streamers and wedding bells and white gladioli decorated the church hall where the reception was held following the ceremony. Mrs. Louise Drost circulated the guest book and gift hostesses were Mrs. Marvin Barnes, Miss Ida Harvey and Miss Gondola Ricker. Miss Louise Barnes, aunt of the bride served the wedding cake after the traditional first piece had been cut by the bridal couple and Mrs. Everett Westin, aunt of the bride, presided at the punch bowl. Assisting in serving were Miss Ruth Patton, Meredith Fulmer, Joyce Carter and Martha Wilcox.
For a wedding trip to the White Mountains, the bride wore a rose suit trimmed with black velvet and a corsage of roses and sweet peas. The couple will be at home at 107 Paige Street, Owego, N. Y., after September 5th.
The bride graduated from Washburn High School in the class of 1952 and attended Zion Bible Institute at East Providence, R. I. The bridegroom graduated from Bangor High School in 1949 and from Zion Bible Institute in 1952. He is a minister at Owego, N. Y.
