MAPLETON BRIDE -- Mrs. John Doody, Jr., was the former Miss Patricia Winslow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Winslow of Mapleton before her marriage Tuesday evening to John Doody, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Doody, Sr., of Crouseville.

Miss Patricia Ann Winslow Wed In Crouseville Ceremony

CROUSEVILLE, Nov. l [1953] -- The Advent Christian Church of Crouseville was the scene of an attractive wedding Tuesday evening when Miss Patricia Ann Winslow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon C. Winslow of Mapleton, became the bride of John Hazen Doody Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Doody, Sr., of Crouseville.

The Rev. Gerald Flewelling performed the double ring ceremony. The church was decorated with a white carnation and ribbon on each pew and two baskets of white gladioli decorated the altar and two candelabra were at the altar and one candle in each window.

Traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Jack Stoddard and she accompanied Reuben Martin who sang "Because" and "Together With Him."

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a white satin gown with the finger-tip sleeves and bodice of lace. The gown had a V-neckline and tiny white covered buttons down the front of the bodice. Her finger-tip veil of bridal illusion of net fell from a tiara of seed pearls. A rhinestone necklace and bracelet were her only accessories. She carried a bouquet of white gladioli.

Miss Janet Buck of Mapleton, classmate of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a, pink floor-length gown of net and matching headdress of nylon net and roses.

Jeanne Bagley and Claudine Lint, both of Mapleton, classmates of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore matching gowns of blue taffeta with overskirts of net and yellow taffeta with over skirt. They wore matching headdresses of matching nylon net and roses. They wore arm bouquets of harmonizing colored gladioli.

Donald Doody, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man and the ushers were Philip Smith, cousin of the bride, and Dana Doody, cousin of the bridegroom.

Linda Winslow, sister of the bride, was flower girl and wore an orchid taffeta floor-length gown with a nylon net overskirt and a matching headdress of net and roses. She carried a basket of gladioli petals.

James Winslow, brother of the bride was ring bearer and carried the rings on a white lace pillow.

The mother of the bride wore blue crepe street length dress with black accessories and wore a corsage of white pom poms. The bridegroom's mother wore a white street length dress with navy accessories and wore a corsage of white pom-poms.

RECEPTION HELD

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Crouseville Mission Home. The home was decorated with blue and white crepe paper and pink and white carnations.

Miss Eleanor Winslow, cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guest book with Mrs. Hartson

Blackstone Jr., Mrs. Chester Winslow and Mrs. Vaughn Winslow, all cousins of the bride, presiding at the gift table.

Following the first traditional slice cut by the couple, the wedding cake was served by Miss Vivian Plummer, Darlene Plummer, Doreen Plummer and Carrie Chase. Mrs. Leo Flewelling and Mrs. Ralph Crouse assisted. The bride's cake was made by Mrs. Leo Flewelling, and cut by Mrs. Daniel Wilder, aunt of the bridegroom.

Mrs. Edgar Crouse presided over the punch bowl. The bride's table was decorated with a centerpiece of pink and white carnations.

For a wedding trip of unannounced destination, the bride chose for traveling a navy blue and white check suit with red accessories and wore a corsage of red roses.

The bride is a graduate of Chapman grade school and Mapleton high school in the class of 1952, and is employed by Aroostook Growers, Incorporated in Presque Isle.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Caribou grade school and a graduate of Washburn high school, class of 1951. He is at present engaged in farming with his father.
