Washburn Girl Weds Perham Man

WASHBURN, May 27 [1954] -- A spring wedding took place April 30 in the United Baptist Church of Washburn. Miss Dawn Marie Manzer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Manzer of Washburn, became the bride of Dale Woodbury Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodbury Harris of Perham. The Rev. J. Wesley Sewart, of Washburn officiated at the double ring ceremony assisted by the Rev. Gerald Swetham of Perham.

As organist. Mrs. Emma Dow, aunt of the bridegroom, played the traditional wedding music, and Ronald Dow, cousin of the bridegroom, sang "Because" and "A Wedding Prayer."

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a chantilly lace and satin gown with a fitted bodice of lace and long pointed sleeves. Her full length taffeta skirt had an over skirt of net. Her veil was finger tip length of tulle illusion with a wide appliqued border of Spanish lace.

She carried a white Bible topped with sweetheart roses with ribbon streamers tied with rosebuds.

Mrs. Merle Dickerson, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a full length gown of pale green taffeta with net over-skirt.

Miss Marilyn Brown, friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. Her gown was pink taffeta with net over skirt. Their headdresses were pink carnations and they carried colonial bouquets of carnations.

Sharon Ann Kellenbeck, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Her gown was yellow taffeta with net overskirt tied with black velvet sash, she carried a basket of pansies and sweet peas.

Roderick D. McKay, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man.

Mrs. Manzer wore a tow piece suit dress of aqua and black with black accessories and wore a corsage of red roses.

Mrs. Harris, mother of the bridegroom, wore a nylon beige dress with brown accessories and a. corsage of red roses.

Perry A. Manzer and Frederick J. Manzer, brothers of the bride were ushers. Mrs. William Kellenbeck Jr., sister of the bridegroom, was in charge of the guest book.

Mrs. Perry Manzer, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. Ira Day, Jr., were in charge of the gift table. Mrs. Frederick Manzer, sister-in-law of the bride, and Miss Valera Jamerson, cousin of the bride, served the wedding cake. Refreshments were served by the Senior Philathes class of the church with Mrs. Muriel Clark as chairman.

The couple left on a wedding trip and will reside at 20 North Main street, Caribou, on their return. The bride chose for her traveling a light blue suit with white and navy accessories and she complemented her outfit with a corsage of red roses.
