
BRIDE AT PERHAM--Mrs. Malcolm Eugene Andrews, above, was Patrice Velma McIntire before her marriage Saturday afternoon at the Perham Baptist Church. She is the daughter of Congressman and Mrs. Clifford G. McIntire of Perham. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland B. Andrews of Presque Isle.
The Rev. Gerald Swetnam, pastor of the church, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Merle Dow, church organist, played traditional wedding music, and accompanied the soloist, Miss Nancy McIntire, cousin of the bride, who sang "Through the Years'' and Ronald Dow, who sang "Because'' and "The Lord's Prayer."
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a chapel length gown of chantilly lace and nylon tulle over satin. The fitted bodice of lace was designee with long pointed sleeves and V-neck edged in nylon tulle. Her finger-tip veil of French Imported nylon tulle fell from a train of matching lace trimmed with seed pearls. She carried a white orchid an a prayer book, with baby's breath tied in satin streamers. Her only ornament was a single strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom.
Miss Marilyn Winslow of Presque Isle, as maid of honor, wore a ballerina-length gown of pale pink antique shantung with the strapless bodice fashioned in an empire waistline and pleated bodice with matching jacket. Her headdress was of pink leaves with a small veil and she carried a fan of deep maroon carnations.
Mrs. Andrews chose Phyllis Ames of Washington, D. C., a college classmate, Marilyn Harmon of Perham, and Marilyn Lewin of Perham as her bridesmaids. Their dresses were identical to the maid of honors' and they also carried fans of deep maroon carnations.
BEST MAN
Aubrey Keef of Vanceboro, college roommate of the bridegroom, was best man, while Perley Dean of Easton, Blynn McIntire, brother of the bride, and Theodore Emery, Jr., of Farmington, cousin of the bridegroom, were ushers.
Mrs. McIntire, mother of the bride, chose a periwinkle blue lace dress for her daughter's wedding. She complimented her dress with pink accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Andrews, mother of the bridegroom, wore an orchid shantung and lace dress with white accessories and a corsage of white roses. Mrs. Enos Sawyer, maternal grandmother of the bridegroom, wore a black dress with white accessories and a corsage of white roses.
The reception immediately following the ceremony was held at the home of the bride. The house was decorated with baskets of white gladioli. The refreshment table followed the bride's color scheme of pink and white with pink and white painted daisies entwined in green leaves. Miss Jean Holts, cousin of the bride, had charge of the guest hook, while Mrs. Alton Pickering and Mrs. Theodore Emery, Jr., cousins of the bridegroom, presided at the gift table.
The wedding cake, made by Mrs. Uni Espling of New Sweden, was served by Mrs. Smith McIntire and Mrs. Bearl Flewelling, assisted by Myrna Lewin and Gail Carter, after the traditional first slice was cut by the bride and bridegroom.
Mrs. Nathan Lewin had charge of refreshments, assisted by Mrs. Ernest Harris, Mrs. Carroll Blackstone and Mrs. Ray Carter. At the punch bowls were Mrs. Willis Haskell of Presque Isle and Miss Winnifred Robertson of Caribou, college friends of the bride. Rose Anne Greenlaw of Presque Isle and Margaret Grant of Houlton assisted at the refreshment table.
For a wedding trip to an unannounced destination, Mrs. Andrews chose a navy blue dacron summer suit trimmed in white with navy and white accessories. She complemented her costume with a white orchid corsage. After July 4, Mr. and Mrs. Andrews will be at home in Roslyn, New York.
WASHBURN GRADUATE
Mrs. Andrews was graduated from Washburn High school, Aroostook School of Commerce in Presque Isle and attended Colby College. At present she is a senior at the George Washington University in Washington, D. C., majoring in education and business administration. She is a member of the Chi Omega social fraternity.
