Glenna Haines Washburn Bride

WASHBURN, Sept. 22 [1955] -- A quiet evening wedding took place September 13 at the Baptist parsonage when Miss Glenna Agnes Haines, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Haines, of Washburn, became the bride of Donald Ewing of Presque Isle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ewing of Chapman.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Wesley Stuart, pastor of the Washburn Baptist church. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Barnes of Fort Fairfield.

The bride was attractive in a gray gabardine suit with white winter hat, white gloves, and blue accessories. She wore a corsage of pink flowers.

Mrs. Barnes' costume was a wine suit. Accessories included white gloves and a navy hat and she wore a corsage to match.

Mrs. Haines was gowned in blue gabardine with white corsage, while Mrs. Ewing wore a grey suit with matching hat.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Crouseville Mission building, where the bridal

arch was trimmed with white, blue and pink decorations, interspersed with evergreen and sweetpeas.

The gift table was decorated to match the arch. Decorations were the work of Mrs. William Crouse of Crouseville, Mrs. Herman Jardine of Washburn and Mrs. Jess Esterbrook of Caribou. Mrs. Jardine took photographs of the occasion.

Presiding at the gift table were Mrs. Ferne Pelvin of New Haven, Conn., Mrs. Claude Haines and Mrs. James Humphrey, both of Washburn.

The guest book was in charge of Miss Claudia Haines of Washburn.

Buffet luncheon arrangements were directed by Mrs. William Crouse. Ice Cream and punch were features, and the bride's cake was served by Mrs. Nottis Humphrey of Washburn, after the first piece was cut by the bride and bridegroom.

The bride received many gifts, including money.

The couple left after the ceremony for a honeymoon trip to Charlottetown, P. E. I. They have established residence at Presque Isle.
