
WED AT WASHBURN -- Mrs. Kenneth J. Corey, above, the former Miss Joy Ardith Clark of Washburn, was wed at the Washburn Baptist Church Sunday afternoon.
The Rev. J. Wesley Stuart, pastor, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Vera Jones, aunt of the bride, was organist. She played traditional wedding music and accompanied Ronald Dow, soloist, who sang Because, Wedding Prayer and With This Ring.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a gown of ivory chiffon velvet wiih cathedral train. The fitted bodice, with a sweetheart neckline and Queen Anne collar was fashioned with long pointed sleeves and tiny pearl buttons at the wrists. The front of the full skirt had a panel of nylon net over taffeta. Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion was secured by an ivory lace cap embroidered with pearls. She wore a single strand of heirloom pearls and carried a colonial bouquet of white roses surounding a white orchid.
Mrs. Milton Crouse, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Miss Eliane Clark, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor I
Mrs. Crouses gown was fashioned in ice blue chiffon velvet, ballerina length, with hoop, a sweet-
heat neckline and Queen Anne collar. She had velvet cap and mitts to match, and carried a colonial bouquet of white roses, centered with a blue carnation.
Miss Clark's gown was identical in red chiffon velvet with matching cap and mitts. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses centered with a red rose.
Milton Crouse, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man. Ushers were Vaughn Clark, cousin of the bride. Beverly Crouse and David Jardine. Mrs. Clark was seated by her son, Jay, eldest brother of the bride.
Sandra Corey, sister of the groom, was flower girl. Her dress was red chiffon velvet, floor length, with hoop, fitted waist, full skirt and Peter Pan collar, with head band and mitts to match. She carried a colonial bouqnet of white roses centered with a red rose.
The bride's mother wore a street length dress of plum chiffon velvet, with yellow accessories. Her
corsage was of yellow roses.
The bridegroom's mother was dressed in navy blue chiffon velvet with navy blue and white accessories. Her corsage was white roses.
RECEPTION
A reception followed immediately in tbe church dining room which was decorated with fall flowers. The bride's mother and the bridegroom's mother assisted in receiving.
The bride's cake was cut and served by Mrs. Harold Clark, aunt of the bride, after the first traditional slice had been cut by the bride.
Miss Martha Jones and Miss Maxine Clark, cousins of the bride, presided at the punch bowl. Assisting in serving were Mrs. Victoria Wilder, Mrs. Bessie Wilder, Mrs. Ethel Lancaster, Mrs. Mavis Carter, Mrs. Iva Day Jr., and Mrs. Laversa Howard.
Miss Catherine Duncan was charge of the guest book, while Miss Carolyn Bull and Miss Joyce BI·addock had charge of the gift table.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School and Dean Junior College of Franklin, Mass. She was employed this summer in Bangor.
Mr. Corey is a graduate of Washburn High Schoo1 and is serving in the Air Force, stationed at Greenier Air Force Base, Manchester, N. H.
For traveling, the bride wore a navy blue knit suit with a winter white topper and accessories. Her
corsage was a white orchid. After a wedding trip to Quebec and the White Mountains, the couple will be at home in Manchester, N. H., October 20.
