Elwood Doody, Donna Chapman Wed At Washburn

WASHRURN, June 17 [1955] -- Miss Donna Chapman, daughter of Mrs. Flora Chapman, and the late Maurice Chapman, became the bride of Elwood Doody, son of Mr. and Mrs. Whit Doody in a simple ceremony which took place at the Baptist parsonage on Saturday, at 4 o'clock. The Rev. J. Wesley Stuart performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a street length dress of white nylon net over satin with white accessories, and complemented her costume with corsage of red and white carnations.

Mrs. Paul Conley, friend of the bride, was the matron of honor and her dress was aqua with white accessories. She wore a corsage of pink carnations.

Raymond Bondeson, classmate of the bridegroom was best man.

Following the ceremony a dinner was held at Green Acres in honor of the bridal couple. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman and Mr. and Mrs. Whit Doody, parents of the couple. Mrs. Paul Conley and Raymond Bondeson.

Mrs. Doody is a graduate of Hampden Academy, class of 1952, and has been employed as secretary at the Washburn Electric Company office. Mr. Doody is a graduate of Washburn High School, Class of 1952, and was formerly employed by the Mac Holts Genera1 Store in Perham. At present, he is serving with the United States Army and is stationed at Fort Myer, Virginia. He will be discharged in September and the couple will reside in Washburn.
