... Thursday at home of the bridegroom's parents when Miss Betsy Valley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Valley became the bride of Dalton Sperrey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guilford Sperrey.
The Rev. Renhard Sands, former pastor of the Pentecostal church and now of Hartford, Conn., performed the double ring ceremony.
The ceremony was conducted under an archway of evergreen interspersed with pink flowers and pink streamers. A while wedding bell hung in the center and the background was flanked with the evergreen trees which bordered the lawn. On each side of the arch wale baskets of cut flowers.
Miss Alice Harris played the wedding music on the accordion. The Rev. Reuben Martin sang ''I Love You Truly" and after the prayer sang "Together With Jesus."
The bride wore a dress of white lace over taffeta, fashioned with a victorian style collar and a ballerina length and she carried a cascade bouquet of regal lilies centered with red roses.
Mrs. Dale Peterson, friend of the bride was the matron of honor and her dress was blue nylon with white flecks and she wore pink accessories. Her bouquet was pink and white carnations.
Dale Peterson, cousin of the bridegroom attended the best man. Ushers were Murray Allen and Atwood Sperrey.
Mrs. Valley, mother of the bride wore a purple dress with orchid cape and orchid accessories and she complemented her costume with a corsage of white carnations. Mrs, Sperrey, mother of the bridegroom, wore a silk dress of dusty rose and her corsage was white carnations.
Mrs. Gertrude Gould, maternal grandmother, wore a lilac dress and Mrs. Cora. Sperrey and Mrs. Walter Dickinson, grandmother of the bridegroom, wore pink dresses and each wore a corsage of white carnations to complement their attire.
Following the ceremony the reception was also held on the lawn. Miss Judee Taylor circulated the guest book. Presiding at the gift table were Miss Glenna Sperrey and Miss Willa and Carolyn Nickerson.
After the traditional first slice of the wedding was cut by the couple, the cake was served by Miss Marion Munson, Mrs. Atwood Sperrey made the cake. Assisting in serving were Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner Sperrey, Mrs. Everett Sperrey and Mrs. Evelyn Pelkey of Lincoln.
The couple left on a wedding trip to the White Mountains and Old Orchard. Mrs. Sperrey wore for traveling, a white dress with yellow topper and matching accessories and her corsage was red roses. The couple will reside in an apartment on Main Street.
