Miss Gay Conley Of Washburn Wed At Presque Isle

WASHBURN. Jan. 5 [1956] -- Miss Gay Conley of Washburn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Conley, became the bride at S/Sgt. William N. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Smith of Harrisonburg, Va., late last month.

The wedding took place at the Presque Isle Congregational Church, with the Rev. T. J. Cornish performing the double ring service.

Mr. Mona Blanchard was her sister's matron of honor.

The bride wore a. light blue suit with blue accessories. She had a corsage of white carnations.

The matron of honor wore a gray suit with black accessories and a corsage of pink carnations.

Sgt. Alvin Shafer of Carlton, Ky. was best man.

Mrs. Smith was graduated from Washburn High School in the class of 1954. She is employed at the Birds-Eye Frozen Foods plant in Caribou.

Sgt. Smith was graduated from Broadway High School, Broadway, Va. He has spent the last four years in the U.S.A.F., and is stationed at Loring Air Force Base.

After his discharge from service January 17, the couple will make it's home in Virginia.
