Miss Marilyn Louise Hay Weds Claude Cyr At Caribou

CARIBOU, April 6 [1956] -- Miss Marilyn Louise Hay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hay of Washburn, became the bride of Claude Raymond Cyr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cyr of Caribou at Holy Rosary Church Tuesday evening.

The Rev. Lucien Grondin officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Music for the service was played by the church organist, Bruno Couture.

The bride given in marriage by her father, wore a white lace chapel length gown fashioned with cap sleeves and trimmed with rhinestones. Her hat was white lace trimmed with rhinestones and she carried a missal topped with an orchid.

The maid of honor, Miss Jane Moran of Presque Isle wore a yellow silk chapel length gown, and complemented her outfit with a corsage of lavender mums.

Donald Susee of Caribou was best man and ushers were John F. Cyr, brother of the bridegroom and Peter F. Fisher.

The mother of the bride wore a mint green silk print dress and the bridegroom's mother wore a navy blue dress complimented with navy blue and white accessories. Both mothers wore white flowers.

A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents in Washburn. Cynthia Ballard was in charge of the guest book and Phyllis Hay was in charge of the gift table.

Assisting in serving were Ellen Hay and Mrs. Arnold Ballard.

For a wedding trip to Quebec the bride wore a navy blue linen suit with white accessories.

Mrs. Cyr was graduated from Washburn High School and is employed at the Washburn Town office.

The bridegroom was graduated from Caribou High School and is employed with his father at Cyr's Barber Shop.
