Candelabra and baskets of white gladioli decorated the altar and large white and green bows decorated the family pews.
Mrs. Merle Dow played the traditional wedding music and the Rev. Robert Brackley was soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of white brocaded taffeta with a shallow vee neck line, long sleeves pointed at the wrists and a fitted bodice with a point at the waistline. The skirt had deep pleats with a chapel sweep.
Her finger-tip veil of imported French illusion net fell from a crown of seed pearls and orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of baby's breath centered with white orchids and streamers.
She wore a pearl choker, a gift of the bridegroom. Her gown was designed and made by her mother.
Miss Myrna Lewin of Perham, sister of the bride and maid of honor, wore a princess style ballerina length gown of turquoise crystalette over taffeta with an empire waistline and a sabrina neckline. She wore a matching headpiece and carried a colonial bouquet of bronze mums with brown streamers.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Malcolm Andrews and Miss Beverly Turner, both of Perham, friends of the bride, who wore gowns identical to that of the maid of honor. They carried colonial bouquets of bronze mums with brown streamers and matching headpieces.
Louis Burtt of Bridgewater, friend of the bridegroom, was best man and Gerald Burtt of Bridgewater, Dana Whitehouse of Sherman, friends of the bridegroom, were ushers. Bryant Lewin, brother of the bride was the junior usher.
The mother of the bride wore a dress of copper colored embroidered iridescent taffeta with tourquoise accessories, complimented with a corsage of gladioli.
The bridegroom's mother selected a dress of black and pink taffeta with pink accessories and a corsage of pink gladioli.
The bride's grandmother chose a suit of slate blue with rose accessories and a corsage of pink gladioli.
Following the reception a reception was held in the church vestry. Decorations included baskets of autumn leaves, a centerpiece of white gladioli and silver candle holders.
Mrs. Ernest A. Manzo of Millinocket, friend of the bride, circulated the guest book and Mrs. Gene Drew and Mrs. William Shaw of Oakfield, sisters of the bridegroom, presided at the gift table.
Mrs. Edward Johnson of Easton and Miss Glenda Barker of Fort Fairfield, cousins of the bride, dipped punch. In charge of refreshments were Mrs. Clifford McIntire of Perham, assisted by Mrs. Gordon Everett and Mrs. Smith McIntire.
After the traditional first slice had been cut by the bride, Mrs. Fraser Barker of Fort Fairfield, aunt of the bride, cut and served the cake.
For her wedding trip to Bar Harbor, the bride wore a gray suit with black velvet accessories and a white orchid corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Prince will be at home in Washburn after October 6.
The bride was graduated from Washburn High School, attended Fisher Junior College and was graduated from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of X-ray Technicians in 1956. She is employed in the X-ray department of the Presque Isle General Hospital.
The bridegroom was graduated from Oakfield Community High School, received a B.S. degree in education from Aroostook Teachers College and served in the U. S. Navy from 1951 to 1955. He is employed at the Washburn Junior High School, where he teaches mathematics and science.
