Miss Carmichael Of Presque Isle Weds C. C. Bull

PRESQUE ISLE, July 4 [1958] -- Miss Ardis Gene Carmichael, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee Carmichael of Presque Isle, became the bride of Chipman C. Bull, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bull of Washburn, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Presque Isle, last Saturday morning. The Rev. John T. Harris officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The church was decorated with baskets of white summer flowers. Daniel Ladner played traditional music. Vocalists were Gregory Freeman, Robert Theriault. Michael Theriault and Daniel Ladner.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding dress of Chantilly lace and nylon illusion net over taffeta. The gown was floor length with front and back center panels of Chantilly lace. She wore a Juliet crown of seed pearls and lace with fingertip veil of nylon illusion. Her white prayer book with rosary entwined was a gift of the bridegroom. She carried a white orchid with streamers.

Mrs. Richard Smith of Mapleton was the matron of honor. She wore a floor length gown of lilac nylon organdy over taffeta, with elbow length mitts, braided circlet of plastic net and seed

pearls, with a lilac face veil of illusion.

Mrs. Donald Bragg, Mrs. Harry Thomas, Jr., and Mrs. Burrell Carmichael were the other attendants and wore gowns identical to the matron of honor's. All carried colonial bouquets of daisies in pastel colors.

Peter LeVasseur of Fort Fairfield was best man. Ushers were Burrell Carmichael of Presque Isle, Robert Donovan and Berry Stoddard of Washburn. They wore cut-away morning dress.

The flower girl was Kendra Carmichael, a niece of the bride. She wore a dress identical to that of the matron of honor and carried a basket of flower petals.

Michael McNamee was ring bearer.

The bridegroom's mother wore a two-piece beige suit-dress of cotton and silk shantung with brown and beige accessories. A corsage of cymbidium orchids in beige with brown edging complemented her costume.

A reception was held in the K. of C. hall, which was decorated with crepe paper streamers of lilac, mint green and white wedding bells and baskets of flowers.

The guest book was in charge of Mrs. Gary Thompson with Miss Joyce Akeley and Mrs. Robert

Donavan presiding at the gift table. The wedding cake was cut by Mrs. Priscilla Carmichael and

served by Mrs. Richard Irving.

Mrs. David Dobbins served punch while Mrs. Patrick Gagnon and Mrs. Gary MacDonald poured coffee.

Mr. and Mrs. Bull left by car for a wedding trip down the coast of Maine and through the White Mountains. The bride wore a dusty green sheath dress with a white picture hat and accessories.

They will make their home on Wilder Street in Washburn.

The bride graduated from Presque Isle High School and is employed by the Netherland Typewriter Company in Presque Isle.

Mr. Bull graduated from Washburn High School and attended the University of Maine and Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. He is employed by the Aroostook Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Commission of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
