MRS. BOBBY TURNER(Roberta Tilley)
Baskets of white carnations and mixed flowers decorsted the altar for the double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. J. Wesley Stuart.
The flowers were a gift from the bride's uncle, Guy Casco of Cronwell, Conn.
Traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Maxine Foster who also accompanied Ronald
Dow of Perham, as he sang; "I'll Walk Beside You," and "I Love You Truly."
Given in marriage by her oldest brother, Robert Tilley, the bride wore a floor length gown of white slipper satin, fashioned with a yoke of rosebud lace, fitted bodice and long pointed sleeves. A row of tiny satin-covered buttons trimmed the sleeves and a satin cord bound the empire waistline forming a bow in the back from which fell a large pleat. The gown was made by Mrs. Delores Woodman of Washburn, a friend of the bride's family.
Her finger tip veil of bridal illusion fell from a Juliet cap trimmed with seed pearls and sequins. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses intermingled with babies-breath.
Mrs. Thomas Moorman of Roanoke, Va., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a ballerina length gown of deep fushia nylon over taffeta and matching headband. She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations
Miss Patsy Ann Tilley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tillev, niece of the bride, was flower
girl. She wore a petal pink nylon dress with matching pink head-band and carried a basket of
American beauty rose petals.
Blynn Tilley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Tilley, and nephew of the bride, carried the rings on
a white satin pillow. The pillow was made by Mrs. Mary Plissey of Washburn and was a gift to
the bride.
Burton Tilley, brother of the bride, was best man. David Tilley, also brother of the bride, and
A/2c Ronnie Combs of Kentucky, were ushers.
For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Tilley wore a dress of petal pink lace over taffeta with white
accessories, and an orchid corsage.
A wedding bell with streamers and summer flowers decorated the dinning hall of the church for the reception. The wedding cake, made by Mrs. Edward Espling of New Sweden, was cut and
served by the Misses Barbara Kennedy of Caribou, and Peggy Brewer of Washburn, after the bridal couple cut the first slice.
The refreshment table was centered with an arrangement of roses. Serving were Mrs. Judy
Hewitt, Mrs. Robert Tilley, Mrs. Burton Tilley, and Mrs. J Wesley Stuart. Miss Reubena Donovan was in charge of the guest book, and the Misses Diane Haskell, Lindn McBrearity, and Norene Umphrey had charge of the gift table. Miss Judy Kidney presided at the punch bowl.
The bridal couple left by car on a wedding trip to Bassett, Va. The bride chose for traveling a cotton print sheath dress made by her classmate, Miss Lona Churchill. She complemented her outfit with white accessories.
Mrs. Turner is a graduate of Washburn High School, class of 1958. Mr. Turner attended John
D. Bassett High School, and is serving in the Air Force, stationed at the Perham Transmitter Site.
