Margaret Rand, LeRoy Turner Married At Washburn Church

WASHBURN, July 1 [1958] -- Miss Margaret Joyce Rand, daughter of Mrs. Lucy Rand and the late Wallace Rand; was united in marriage to LeRoy. Guy Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Turner of Washburn. Saturday evening at the Methodist Church in Washburn.

The doubIe ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. George Budd, pastor of the church.

The altar was decorated with white and yellow gladioli, other garden flowers and white candles. Family pews were marked with flowers and white satin ribbon.

Given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Richard Bull of Presque Isle, the bride wore a ballerina gown of nylon; and acetate lace with moulded bodice and square scalloped neckline. The back closing ended in a large butterfly bow. Her fingetip veil from a heart shaped crown of mother of pearl. Her bouquet wall white and yellow gladioli with satin ribbons. Miss Diane Haskell played traditional wedding. music and accompanied Mrs. Robert Brown who sang "Because" and "I Love You Truly."

Miss Marilyn Howe, as maid of honor, wore a gown of yellow nylon net and taffeta, with yellow net hat, mitts, and yellow, colonial bouquet.

Miss Edwina Rand was her sisters' bridesmaid. She wore a gown of blue nylon net and taffeta, with blue net hat, mitts and blue and yellow colonial bouquet.

Ronald Rundstrom was best man. James Plissey, Jr., and Dale Turner, cousins of the bridegroom, were ushers. Larry Allen Turner was his brother's junior usher.

Diane Knox, niece of the bride, and Paullne Doody, cousin of the bridegroom, as flower girls; wore white net and taffeta, gowns with small veils.

Ricky Churchill, cousin of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.

The mother of the bridegroom wore a light, blue and white dress with white accessories and a yellow corsage.

Aunts of the bridegroom who assisted with the serving were: Mrs. James Plissey, Mrs. Clair Lavway, Mrs. Bert Turner, Mrs. Irvine Churchill. Mrs. Glenn Turner, dipping punch were Peggy Brewer and Pearl Russell.

Mrs. Shirley Plissey, sister of the bride, and Rebena Donovan, served the wedding cake after the bridal couple cut the first slice. At the gift tables were: Mrs. George Doody, cousin of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Tom Barker, sister of the bride.

For their wedding trip to the White Mountains and Old Orchard, by motor, the bride chose a blue and white dress with white accessories. They will be at home in their apartment on the Caribou-Washburn road after July 7.
