Perham Girl Church Bride

PERHAM, Aug. 14 [1958] -- Linda Gail McBreairty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McBreairty of Perham, was married to George Theral Seward, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. George Seward of Washburn, Saturday evening at the Perham Baptist Church. The Rev. Reed Blackstone performed the double ring ceremony, which fell on the date of the 41st wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dickinson, grandparents of the bride. A reception was held immediately after the ceremony in the church dining room.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length bridal gown fashioned with embroidered lace bodice, covered with a short embroidered lace over-jacket with Peter Pan collar, long tapered sleeves, and closed in front with a row of tiny buttons. The skirt was gathered net over taffeta. She carried a white testament with white roses and ribbon streamers. Her fingertip veil fell from a crown decorated with pearls and sequins.

Miss Leann Tarr of East Holden, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a gown of blue taffeta with harem style skirt and scalloped neckline. Her head-piece and bouquet were blue carnations.

Miss Diane Haskell, bridesmaid, wore a yellow ballerina length gown. Her headpiece and bouquet were also yellow.

Molly McBreairty, sister of the bride was flower girl and Michael Sealander, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Kevin Kidney, was best man. Ushers were Robert Langley, Roscoe McIntosh, Jr., brother-in-law of the bride, and Marvin McBreairty, brother of the bride.

Both the bride's mother and the bridegroom's mother wore dresses of navy and white with navy and white accessories and corsages of red roses.

The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School, class of 1958.

The bridegroom attended Washburn High School and is employed by Herb Easler of Washburn.
