White poms decorated the altar for the ceremony which was performed by the Rev. James Peters, pastor of the Pentecostal Church at Portsmouth, N. H. The Rev. Cyril Chegwin assisted in prayer.
Wedding music, including the traditional marches was played by the church pianist. Mrs. Margaret Harris, Merle Deeves sang "Because" and Lois Burden sang "Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us."
The maid of honor was the bride's sister. Miss Carolyn Nickerson, and the bridesmaids were Miss Christine Nickerson, sister of the bride, Miss Alice Harris, cousin of the bride.
Junior bridesmaids were Prudence and Mora Nickerson, also sisters of the bride.
The Rev. Cyril Chegwin was best man. Ushers were Robert Tilley, uncle of the bride, and Carroll Harris, cousin of the bride.
Junior ushers were Darrell Spongberg and Michael Spongberg. Bruce Parkef was the ring-bearer. Rachel Nickerson, sister of the bride, was flower girl.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white nylon and lace over taffeta. The long tapering sleeves ended in widows peak over the wrists. Her full skirt was accented with a bustle back and her fingertip veil of bridal illusion fell from a tiara trimmed with lace and sequins.
She carried a bouquet of white roses attached to a white Bible with nile green streamers.
The maid of honor wore a pink gown with a fitted bodice and a full skirt of lace over taffeta. The bridesmaids wore gowns identical to that of the maid of honor with matching headdresses.
Junior bridesmaid and the flower girl, wore lavender, yellow and autumn rust gowns made by the bride's mother. The attendants carried bouquets of roses with white streamers.
The bride's mother wore a gray suit with matching accessories. She complemented her ensemble with a corsage of lavender poms.
A reception followed in the church dining hall.
The guest book was circulated by Miss Lois Parker. Assisting in serving were Mrs. Ruth Seward,
Mrs. Margaret Harris, Mrs. Ruby Sands and Mrs. Hazel Spongberg, and Miss Penny Burden, Mrs. Lona Parker presided at the punch bowl.
After the first slice had been cut by the bridal couple, the three tiered wedding cake was served by Mrs. Ruby Sands.
The couple left for Portsmouth, N. H., where they will reside.
The bride traveled in a navy checked suit with matching cape and accessories. She wore a white carnation corsage.
The bride was graduated from Washburn High School and attended the Comptometer School in Portland. The bridegroom was graduated from Purdon High School and is stationed at Pease Air Force Base at Portsmouth, N. H.
Out-of-town guests were Mrs. Vera Nickerson, Mrs. James Peters, Evaline Fischer, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hollawell, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hearsey and John Anderson, Jr.
