Mavis Levesque Becomes Bride At Washburn Pentecostal Church

WASHBURN, Nov. 5 [1959] -- Miss Mavis Levesque, daughter of Mrs. Glenna Levesque and the late Sterling G. Levesque of Washburn, was united in marriage, October 30, to Maurice D. White, son of Elizabeth White and the late William White, Wade Road.

The candlelight Ceremony was held at the Washburn Pentecostal Church. The double ring ceremony was performed by The Rev. C. J. Chequien, pastor.

Waldron Babbage sang "Because" and "The Lord's Prayer."

The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Bert Conley. She wore a floor length gown of white Chantilly lace and net taffeta with long pointed and sabrina neckline.

Her crown of sequins caught to a fingertip veil of illusion. She carried a white Bible centered with an orchid and streamers.

Maid of honor was Brenda Levesque sister of the bride. She wore a white lace ballerina gown, a floral headpiece and short veil. She carried a colonial bouquet.

Bridesmaids were Betty Cochran and Gail Conley, cousins of the bride. They wore blue ballerina gowns with headpieces matching that of the maid of honor. They carried colonial bouquets.

Flower girl was Rhonda Undergust, cousin of the bride. She wore a blue gown and headpiece. Ring bearer was Bruce Parker.

Best man was Burton Sands. Ushers were Jerome Churchill and William White, Jr., brother of

the bridegroom.

The bride's mother selected a deep rose wool dress with white accessories. She complemented her ensemble with a white gladiola corsage.

The bridegroom's mother wore a Navy blue suit, Navy accessories and a white gladiola corsage.

White gladioli decorated the church alter.

The couple left for a wedding trip. On their return, they will live at their apartment on the Wade Road.
