The Rev. Howard A. Krueger officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The altar was decorated with baskets of white poms and candelabra. Mrs. Wilmot Churchill played traditional wedding music and accompanied Harry Duncan who sang "I Love You Truly" and "O Promise Me".
The bride given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of pure silk organza, the princess style bodice was fashioned with a Sabrina neckline with Alencon lace detail embroidered
with sequins and seed pearls and long pointed sleeves. The bouffant skirt extended to a chapel sweep train. She wore a French illusion finger tip veil attached to an organza petal hat embroidered with pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses and ivy.
Miss Earlene Kneeland, Greenville, as maid of honor wore a waltz length gown of medium blue silk organza over taffeta with a long sleeved bodice featuring a scoop neckline in the back. She wore a matching petal hat of tulle and carried a cascade bouquet of white poms and forget-me-nots.
Mrs. Horatio Knight and Mrs. Albert Moody, Rockland, as bridal attendants, wore waltz gowns styled identical to that of the maid of honor's in a deeper shade of blue silk organza. They wore matching petal hats of tulle and carried cascade bouquets of white poms and forget-me-nots.
Albert Moody, Rockland, was best man and ushers were Kenneth Duncan, Jr., Hallowell, and Hanford Duncan, Washburn; brothers of the bride.
A reception was held in the church dining room immediately after the ceremony. After the traditional first slice was cut by the bride and bridegroom, the wedding cake was served by Mrs.
Hanford Duncan and Mrs. Kenneth Duncan, Jr., The Misses Janet and Suzanne Duncan, nieces of the bride, circulated the guest book. Miss Bonnie ___ presided at the punch bowl. Assisting in serving were Mrs. Kenneth Corey and Mrs. Leland Dahlgren.
For traveling, the bride chose a white wool walking suit with spice brown accessories. Upon their return, the Zieglers will reside in Orono.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School and the University of Maine. She has been a member of the Rockland High School faculty for the past four years and has a teaching position in the Orono school system.
The bridegroom was graduated from New Rochelle High School, New Rochelle, N.Y., and the University of Maine. He has been a member of the Rockland High School faculty and is enrolled for graduate study at the University of Maine.
