Lillian Jordan, James Winter Exchange Vows

PRESQUE ISLE, July 18 [1960] -- Lillian Louise Jordan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Jordan of Washburn, and James Lee Winter of Presque Isle, son of Mrs. Dorothy Lee Winter of Bennington, Vt., and Charles W. Winter, Jr. of Annapolis, Md. were united in holy matrimony June 25 in the Washburn Pentecostal Church.

The Rev. Cyril T. Chegwin performed the double ring ceremony, assisted by the Rev, Donald B. Carringham of St. John's Episcopal Church of Presque Isle.

Vocalist was Miss Nancy McIntire, accompanied by Dennis Young at the organ.

The church was decorated with white and pink gladioli.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Herbert Jordan, wore a full length gown of embroidered Chantilly lace over taffeta, a fitted bodice with a scooped neckline fashioned with pearl sequins and three-quarter length sleeves. The back was fashioned with a large chiffon bow with flowing panels.

She wore a finger-tip veil of bridal illusion falling from a pearl sequined tiara. She carried her grandmother's Bible covered with garnet roses and streamers.

The matron of honor was Mrs. Mildred Johnson of Presque Isle and Manistique, Mich. Bridesmaids were Jean Jordan, sister of the bride; Pam Maskell, cousin of the bride; and Roxanne Delano.

The best man was Donald C. Johnson, husband of the matron of honor. Ushers were Timothy Humphrey of Washburn, Stephen Dill of Presque Isle and the U. S. Navy, and Justin Staples of Presque Isle.

Immediately following the wedding a reception was held at the Crouseville Mission Building.

The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School in the class of 1959. She is employed by Raymond Pharmacy in Washburn.

The bridegroom was graduated from Norwalk, Conn., High School in the class of 1954. He served two years in the U. S. Navy attached to the 171st and 103rd Fighter Squadrons at Jacksonville, Fla.

He is presently employed by the Aroostook Valley Railroad Co. as freight agent in Washburn.

Upon returning from a trip to Washington, D. C., the couple will reside at 23 Fort Road in Presque Isle.
