The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earle W. Harvey of 30 Washington avenue, Gardiner.
The Rev. Edgar Hickel of Crouseville performed a double ring ceremony at 2 o'clock.
The church was decorated with white candelabra, baskets of white gladioli, assorted snapdragons and assorted bouquets of summer blossoms. Mrs. Llewellyn Jones of Presque Isle played traditional wedding music and chimes on the organ.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown was of white, embroidered silk organza with a full skirt that was floor length, wide blush pink sash and a scoop neckline. An elbow length veil of pure silk illusion was caught to a queen's crown of pearls. The bride carried a white Bible decorated with white lace white orchid and green ivy streamers.
The gown was made by Mrs. Pearl Flewelling of Crouseville.
The maid of honor was Miss Mary Ann Carter, sister of the bride. She wore a street length dress of pink cotton, trimmed with lace and embroidered with clip dots.
The bridesmaids were Iris Lora Sue Harvey, sister of the bridegroom, Miss Mary Louis McCall of Washburn, and Miss Mary Stapleton Davis of Veazie, a college roommate of the bride. They wore pink dresses and headpieces.
The best man was Edwin S. Harvey, brother of the bridegroom.
The home of the bride on South Main Street was decorated with baskets of white gladioli and summer bouquets for the reception.
Assisting in serving were the Misses Martha McCall, Anne Thompson and Sarah Umphrey.
Serving punch was Mrs. George A. Carter of Augusta, aunt of the bride. Presiding at a guest book was Miss Beth Carter. Caribou, cousin of the bride. At a gift table was Mrs. Dale Flanagin, Mrs. Roscoe McIntosh of Wade, and Mrs. Richard Bernard, Caribou.
The bride was graduated from Washburn High School in l956 and from the University of Maine in June this year; where she majored in history in the College of Arts and Sciences. She received an A.B. degree. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
This fall she is to teach history in Cony High School, Augusta.
The bridegroom was graduated from Gardiner High School in 1954 and from, the University of Maine in 1958. He received an A.B. degree from the College of Arts and Sciences in business and economics. He is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and was president and treasurer of the chapter.
He has served as a second lieutenant in the U. S. Army and is in the Army Reserve. He is associated with the Harvey Distributing Company in Gardiner.
The couple left by automobile for a wedding trip. For traveling the bride wore a blue and white suit with white accessories and an orchid corsage.
After August 25 the couple will be at home at 49 Pleasant Street, Gardiner.
