The Rev. Fred Flewelling, grandfather of the bride, officiated before the altar, which was decorated with candelabra and baskets of white mums.
Mrs. Wilma Perkins, at the organ, played the traditional wedding music and accompanied Mrs. Edgar Hickel who sang "O Promise Me" and "I'll Walk Beside You."
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a chapel length gown of peau de soie with scoop neckline. The sequins and pearl fitted bodice and bracelet sleeves were accented by appliques of chantilly lace. The full skirt featured a chapel train. Her elbow length French tulle veil of bridal illusion was attached to a crown of rhinestones and pearls. Her gown was accented with a single drop pearl necklace. She carried a white Bible draped with an orchid.
The maid of honor, Ann Flewelling; I sister of the bride, wore a forest green street length gown of chiffon velvet trimmed with peau de soie, elbow length sleeves and a fitted bodice with bow. She wore a matching pillbox hat with veil and carried a cascade a yellow mums.
The bridesmaids, Elfreda Courser and Jane McCarthy of Norwich, Vt., classmates of the bride, wore antique gold gowns similar to the maid of honor's with matching headpieces. They carried rust colored mums.
Best man was David Derrenbacher, brother of the bridegroom. Ushering were David Salisbury of Phelps, N. Y., and Hugh Miner, of New York City.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Crouseville Mission Hall which was decorated with white and yellow crepe paper streamers, wedding bells and an evergreen-'arch accented with bells. The buffet table featured a centerpiece of mixed fall mums.
The guest book was circulated by Mrs. Edgar Hickel, Miss Mavis Churchill, classmate of the bride, and Mrs. Marguerite Flewelling; aunt of the bride, presided at the gift table. Wilmont Flewelling, uncle of the bride presided at the punch bowl.
The wedding cake, made by the bride's mother was served by Mrs. Rowena Conley after the traditional first slice was cut by the bridal couple. Assisting in serving were Mrs. Necia Crouse, aunt of the bride, Mrs. Joanne Crouse, Mrs. Ruth Flewelling, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Ardis Libby and Mrs. Joyce Flewelling.
The couple, after a tour of the southern states, will be at home in Fort Sill, Okla., after November, 28. For her wedding trip the bride chose a burnt orange walking suit and black accessories. Her corsage was white orchid.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School and the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Hanover, N. H.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Sodus High School, Sodus, N. Y., and Syracuse University in Syracuse, N. Y. He is employed by the Gillette Company, Rochester, N. Y.
