Chaplain Leath of Loring Air Force Base officiated before the altar, which was decorated with seasonal flowers. Miss Sue Thompson of Washburn played the traditional wedding music and accompanied Mrs. Mary Sales of Caribou, classmate of the bride, who sang.
The bride, given in marriage by her brother Kevin Kidney, wore a ballerina-length gown of Chantilly lace over net. The gown had a Sabrina neckline, elbow-length sleeves and a basque bodice. The full skirt was accented by a tulle net insert gathered by a single flower in the front. Her shoulder-length veil of bridal illusion was attached to a crown of seed pearls and lace. She carried a Bible draped with a cascade of red roses.
The maid of honor, Diane Plissey, classmate of the bride, wore a deep blue chiffon ballerina gown with a cummerbund of peau de soie, capped sleeves and a scoop neckline. She wore a matching veiled headdress and carried a cascade of white poms.
The bridesmaid, Kathryn Kidney, sister of the bride, wore a pink chiffon ballerina gown, accented by long streamers in the back. The basque bodice was highlighted by a bow and the gown has a scoop neckline and capped sleeves. She wore matching net headdress and a cascade of white poms.
The second bridesmaid, Carolyn Bugbee, classmate of the bride, wore a pastel blue gown similar to the maid of honors with matching headdress and a cascade of white poms.
The best man was A2C Walter Carr of Loring Air Force Base. Ushering were A2C Fred Mells and A2C James Brennen of Loring Air Force Base.
A reception was held Wednesday evening at the VFW hall in Presque Isle. The bridal table was decorated with seasonal flowers.
The guest book was circulated by Sharon Sponberg of Washburn and Mrs. Lucy Spooner, sister of the bride. Mrs. Ardis Humphrey presided at the gift table. The wedding cake was cut by Mrs. Helen Umphrey, aunt of the bride and served by Penny Myshral and Beverly Myshrall of Washburn. Dipping punch were Mrs. Sandra Dyer and Mrs. Captola Myshrall and serving coffee was Mrs. Alice Kidney.
The couple left by car for Tampa, Fla, and will be at home at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., after August 15. For her traveling ensemble the bride wore a two-piece lavender sheath
dress. She complemented her ensemble with white accessories.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School, class of 1962.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Caribou High School and is a member of the United States Air Force, formerly stationed at Loring Air Force Base.
