WASHBURN - Miss Shirley Ann Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brown of Washburn became the bride of Raymond Edwin Hanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Hanson of Stratton Saturday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents, at Washburn.
The Rev. Harold J. Rawley of Presque Isle officiated at the double ring ceremony in the room decorated with an arch of cedar evergreens adorned with white satin bows, bridal wreath and wedding bells.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a street length dress of white jersey with pink accessories. She wore a corsage of lavender poms.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Nancy Durell of Stratton. She wore a light beige sheath dress and corsage of white gladioli. The best man was Robert Durell of Stratton.
Following the wedding a reception was held at the home. Circulating the guest book was Mrs. Elsie Haskell of Washburn. The wedding cake was served by Mrs. Harold Brown of Presque Isle, aunt of the bride, after the traditional first slice had been cut by the couple. Mrs. Arthur Nelder of Presque Isle, aunt of the bride dipped punch. Presiding at the gift table was Mrs. Walter Holder of Presque Isle, aunt of the bride.
The couple left by car for a wedding trip to the coast of Maine and will he at home at Stratton after August 4. For her traveling ensemble the bride chose a pale green paisley print dress with beige accessories. She wore a corsage of white
gladioli.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School and is employed at Roger's Motel at Stratton.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Stratton High School and is employed at Foster Woodworking Mills. Stratton.
