
MRS. MARVIN G. PUETT (Mary Jane Crouse)

CROUSEVILLE -- Miss Mary Jane Crouse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Avard W. Crouse of Crouseville, became the bride of Marvin G. Puett, son of Mrs. Myrna Puett of Dallas, Tex., Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church at Crouseville. The Rev. Melvin White officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Baskets of white gladioli decorated the church for the ceremony. Traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Jack Stoddard, organist. "Whither Thou Goest" and "A Wedding Prayer" were sung by Miss Deanna Stoddard.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a chapel train gown of veiled nylon organza. The basque bodice was fashioned with a high scoop neckline and long pointed sleeves. Pearl embroidered appliques enhanced the fully flared skirt Which was designed with a large self-fabric bow at the back waistline. She wore an elbow length, illusion veil with a crown pearls. The bride carried white gladioli and yellow roses, with long white ribbons and rosebuds at the end.
Mrs. Rosemary Crouse of Beloit, Wis., sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a blue street length gown of nylon lace over taffeta with a shoulder length veil of blue attached to a satin crown. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white gladioli.
Jere W. Crouse of Beloit, Wis., brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were Gene Brewer of Presque Isle and Peter Flewelling of Crouseville, both cousins of the bride.
A reception was held at the Crouseville Mission Home, which was decorated with garden bouquets of yellow and white. Miss Mae Brewer of Presque Isle, an aunt of the bride, cut the bride's cake. Mrs. Thomas Brewer of Crouseville, an aunt, and Mrs. Gene Brewer of Presque Isle, a cousin, dipped punch. Presiding at the gift table were Mrs. Mary Whittier of Bangor and Miss Deanna Stoddard, a cousin. of Crouseville, Mrs. Walter Novak of Madawaska, a cousin, circulated the guest book.
The bride graduated from Washburn High School and the Eastern Maine General Hospital School of Nursing. She is employed at the Eastern Maine General Hospital.
The bridegroom attended Buckner Academy at Dallas, Baylor University at Waco, Tex., and the University of Maine. He is stationed with the U. S. Air Force at Dow AFB, Bangor.
After a three weeks wedding trip to Dallas, the couple will be at home at 85 Maple Street, Bangor, after September 1.
