CAROL A. CURTIS BECOMES BRIDE AT WASHBURN

WASHBURN -- The Washburn First Baptist Church was the scene of a wedding, August 30, at 8 p.m. when Miss Carol Ann Curtis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Curtis of Perham, became the bride of Galen Doody, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Doody of Washburn.

The Rev. Carlton Cockey officiated. Miss Barbara Foote of Caribou, cousin of the bride, was organist and Mrs. Ruth Cockey of Perham, soloist.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a ballerina length gown of Chantilly lace and tulle over satin. The dress was fashioned with a Peter Pan collar and long pointed sleeves. Her fingertip veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls. She carried a white Bible covered with yellow roses and streamers.

The maid of honor, Miss Jeannie Turner classmate of the bride wore a street length gown of blue nylon over taffeta and carried a colonial bouquet.

The best man was Larry Turner. Ushering were Paul Russell and Irvn Conley.

Assisting at the reception, held in the church dining room, were Mrs. Frances Dickinson of Perham. Mrs. Marion Kelly and Mrs. Marie Foote of Caribou, aunts of the bride, Miss Terry McKay of Perham, Mrs. Janet Drake of Presque Isle and Mrs. Helen Tompkins, aunts of bride; Mrs. Joyce Doody, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, Mrs. Viola Peary, Mrs. Elva Johnson and Mrs. Alice Doody.

The bride attended Washburn High School.

The bridegroom attended Washburn High School and is employed by the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Presque Isle.

The couple will make their home at Washburn.
