WASHBURN -- The Lidstone Memorial Methodist Church was the scene of a wedding, November 8 at 7 p.m., when Miss Kathryn Kay Kidney of Washburn, daughter of Mrs. Ralph Kidney Farley and the late Clifford Kidney became the bride of William White Jr. of Wade, son of Mrs. Elizabeth White and the late William White.
The Rev. John Palmer of Crouseville officiated at the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with baskets of seasonal flowers.
Miss Sue Thompson played traditional wedding music and accompanied Mrs. Mavis Brown who sang "Because'' and "I Love You Truly."
The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Kevin Kidney wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace with a Sabrina neckline and long pointed sleeves. The full skirt was fashioned with inserts of tulle net and lace appliques adorned with sequins and pearls in the front and ruffles of lace and tulle net in the back.
Her elbow length veil of bridal illusion was attached to a crown of seed pearls and rhine stones, She carried a cascade of white carnations and red roses. Her jewelry was a single strand of her mother's pearls.
The matron of honor, Mrs. Alice Kidney, sister-in-law of the bride, wore a red velvet street length gown and matching veiled headdress with lace. She carried a colonial bouquet of red and white carnations.
The best man was Maurice White of Wade, brother of the bridegroom. Ushers were Douglas Flannigan and Sterling Levesque.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Presque Isle Country Club. The table was decorated bouquets of flowers and candelabra. Circulating the, guest book was Miss Penny Myshrall. Presiding at the gift table was Mrs. Lucy Spooner, sister of the bride and Mrs. Mavis White, sister-in-law of the bridegroom. Dipping punch were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Flannigan. The wedding cake was cut by Mrs. Madeline Litchrod, aunt of the bride, and served by Miss Linda Drost and Miss Sandra White.
The couple left by car for a wedding trip. For traveling, the bride chose a red shift dress with matching accessories and a corsage of white carnations.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School.
The bridegroom is a self employed farmer in Wade, where the couple will make their home.
