Miss Eleanor Mary Brooks Wed To Harold F. Marr, Jr.

Miss Eleanor Mary Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oville Brooks, 36 Harlow Street, Brewer, became the bride of Harold Frederick Marr Jr., of New Haven, Conn., son of Mrs. Lila Martin of Washburn, Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Pentecostal Assembly in Bangor.

Bouquets of white gladioli and poms decorated the chancel for the double-ring ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Clifford Crabtree, assisted by the Rev. Lloyd Sparks of Washburn.

Mrs. David Garland, organist, played incidental wedding music including the traditional marches and accompanied the soloists: Clement Dearing, who sang "I Love You Truly" and "I'll Walk Beside You"; and Mrs. Harley Craig, who sang "Together Life's Pathway We Tread". The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attractive in a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta, fashioned with a fitted bodice, a high scalloped neckline, pointed sleeves. Tiers trimmed the skirt and lace appliques were on the front panel. She carried a Bible with a spray of gardenias and sweet peas with satin streamers: Her shoulder-length veil of bridal illusion was attached to a crown of seed pearls and crystals.

The maid of honor, Miss Carlene Blomberg, of Bangor, wore a ballerina-length dress of pink eyelet matching crown and face veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of orchid carnations.

The other attendants, Miss Lorraine Frances Brooks, sister of the bride, Miss Carol Ann Walls of Brewer, Miss Cynthia Phillips of Orrington, and Mrs. Priscilla Smith of Bangor, were attired in the blue eyelet two - Piece ballerina-length dresses with matching crowns and face veils. They carried colonial bouquets of yellow carnations.

The best man was Larry G. Wilcox cousin of the bridegroom.

The ushers were Earle Hamel, Galen Forge, Ronald Marr and Douglas Smith, all of Bangor.

The flower girl, Miss Kathy Craig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Craig of Bangor, wore a street-length dress of mint green nylon and carried basket of miniature pink carnations.

The ring bearer was Master John Dearing, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clement Dearing of Bangor.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the First Universalist Church vestry which was decorated with pink and blue streamers and wedding bells.

Mr. and Mrs. Marr left by motor on a brief wedding trip. The bride traveled in a three-piece knit lavendar and white suit with beige accessories, complemented with an orchid corsage. They will be honored at a reception this evening at the Pentecostal Assembly in Washburn.

Mr. and Mrs. Marr will be at home at 239 Ellsworth Avenue, New Haven, Conn., after June 13.

The bride was graduated from Brewer High School and is employed at the First Federal Savings and Loan in New Haven.

The bridegroom, a graduate of Washburn High School, is employed at the Hotel Taft in New Haven. Both Mr. and Mrs. Marr attended the Zion Bible Institute in East Providence, R. I.
