CROUSEVILLE -- The Crouseville Advent Christian Church was the scene of a candlelight wedding September 8 at 7 p. m. when Miss Ann Louise Flewelling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Flewelling of Crouseville, became the bride of C. Clifton DuBois, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. DuBois of Pembroke, Ga.
The Rev. Glenwood Jordan of Arlington, Mass., performed the double ring ceremony before the altar which was decorated with candelabra and baskets of chrysanthemums and gladioli.
Mrs. Josephine Stoddard played traditional wedding music and accompanied the Rev. David Crook of Middle Simons, N. B., who sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "I Love You Truly."
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired a floor length gown of peau de soie, made by her mother basque bodice of all-over lace was fashioned with a neckline and long sleeves hand clipped Chantilly lace. A self bow accentuated the back waistline. The controlled bell skirt featured a brush train of peau de soie with a Chantilly lace inserted edged with appliques of hand-clipped lace. A rose and petaled cap held bouffant veil of bridal illusion. Her only jewelry was a pearl pendant. She carried a white Bible covered with a glameilia and satin streamers. The matron of honor, Mrs. Sally Derrenbacher of Newtonville, Mass., sister of the bride, wore a street length gown of light aqua taffeta. The bodice of white lace was fashioned with a scoop neckline, and a self bow accented the back at the waistline. She carried a modified cascade bouquet of White and aqua spider mums.
The bridesmaids were Miss Deborah Jordan of Arlington, Mass., cousin of the bride, and Miss Earleen Tweedie, a classmate of the bride at the Maine Medical Center School of Nursing in Portland. They wore gowns and headpieces identical in style and color to the matron of honor's. They carried bouquets of white and yellow spider mums.
The best man was the Rev. Sidney Bradley of Friendship, cousin of the bridegroom. Ushering were the Rev. Clark Cole of Presque Isle, cousin of the bride, and Wilmot Flewelling, uncle of the bride.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Mission Hall which was decorated with aqua and white streamers and white wedding bells.
Mrs. Georgianna Cole of Presque Isle cut the wedding cake, made by the bride's mother, after the traditional first slice had been cut by the couple. Dipping punch was Mrs. Barbara Bradley of Friendship. Pouring coffee was Mrs. Ruth Flewelling. Mrs. Rowena Conley circulated the guest book. Presiding at the gift table was Mrs. Clarissa Jordan of Arlington, Mass., and Miss Deanna Stoddard.
For their wedding trip to Martha's Vineyard, Mass., the bride chose a peacock blue knit suit with black accessories. She complemented her ensemble with a glamellia corsage.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School and the Maine Medical Center School of Nursing in Portland in September 1964. She is employed at the New England Center Hospital in Boston, Mass.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Bryan County High School in Pembroke, Ga. He attended Berkshire Christian College in Lennox, Mass., and is a graduate of Georgia Southern College in Statesboro. He is attending the Boston University graduate School of Social Work.
The couple is at home at Apartment 2, Four President Terrace, Boston, Mass.
