MRS. T. NATHAN CHURCHILL

Miss Barbara Jean Coffey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glendon E. Coffey, became the bride of T. Nathan Churchill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Churchill of Washburn, at Grant Memorial Methodist Church, Oct 24th. at 7 p.m. Rev. Harold J. Rowley officiated at the double ring, candle-light service.

The church was decorated with baskets of white glads with pink chrysanthemums. Miss Dorothy Dingwall sang "Bless This House" and "Thine Alone", accompanied by Mrs. Llewellyn Jones.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white floor length gown of satin, with scoop neckline, cummerbund waistline bracelet length sleevess s s s s skirt draped with Venise lace appliques and trimmed with pearls. The chapel length train was accentuated by a large bow with a cabbage rose. Her elbow length veil was caught to a tiered crown made of lace, seed pearls and crystals. She carried gardenia with ivy streamers.

Miss Elizabeth Aikenhead, maid of honor, wore a Samarron rose floor length gown of Shantung with scoop neckline, dior sleeves, embroidered cummerbund waistline and controlled skirt. A circular lace veil was attached to her matching pill-box hat. Her bouquet was pale pink chrysanthemums with ivy.

Miss Nancy Ames and Miss Mary Nightingale were bridesmaids and wore dresses the same as the maid Of honor. Their bouquets were also similar.

Merle Churchill, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. Jerome Churchill, G. William Coffey, Dale Churchill and Nathaniel Churchill served as ushers.

The bride's mother wore a knit suit of Fawn with satin piping, a white feather hat, white gloves and brown shoes. Her corsage was bronze chrysanthemums. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy blue print dress with navy blue accessories. Her corsage was white baby orchids.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Presque Isle Country Club, which was decorated with baskets of flowers. Elsie Coffey cut the wedding cake, and Carol Gurney and Diane Coffey assisted with serving it. Mrs. Carlton Coffey and Mrs. David Hoyt dipped punch. Mrs. Ralph Wheeler circulated the Guest book. Mrs. Kenneth Coffey, Miss Linda Wilson, Mrs. Willard Waddell, Mrs. Cluny B. McPherson and Miss Mabel Coffey assisted at the gift table.

The bride graduated from Gorham State Teachers College and is employed by the Department of Health and Welfare in Caribou. The bridegroom graduated from Washburn High School, attended Cambridge School of Broadcasting and is employed by WAGM-TV as Director of Operations.

For their wedding trip through Maine, the bride chose a long-sleeve forest green velvet dress with matching shoes, white angora hat and gloves. Her corsage was yellow sweetheart roses. They will be at home after Oct. 28th. at 2 Loretta Lane, Washburn.
