Jo Ann Maynard Marries Cpl. Gahagan At St. Mary's

PRESQUE ISLE -- Miss Jo Ann Maynard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Maynard of Washburn, and Cpl. Arnold Gahagan Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gahagan Sr. of Caribou. were united in marriage, Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Presque Isle. The Rev. Raymond Gauthier officiated at the double ring ceremony. Daniel Ladner, organist, played traditional wedding marches, and accompanied Miss Penny Burden of Washburn, soloist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of floral jacquard brocade with removable Watteau train which fell from a large self - fabric bow. Her veil was attached to a princess crown of seed pearls. She carried red roses and poms.

Miss Sandra Martin of St. Francis, maid of honor, wore a floor length blue velvet dress and headpiece to match. She carried pink and white carnations.

Frederick Watson of was best man. Gary Rodney and Darrell Maynard. the bride's brothers, and Donald Burr, Rochester, N.Y., cousin of the bridegroom served as ushers.

A reception was held in the evening at the American Legion Hall, Caribou. Assisting were Jeannie Baker and Mrs. Sally Wark of Washburn; Dianne DeMerchant of Caribou, Mrs. Carlene Maynard, Mrs. Germaine Maynard, Beverly Maynard, Patricia Ann Gahagan, Mrs. Beatrice Doody, Laura Lee Doody, Mrs. Pauline Buxton, Betty Buxton of Waterville, Mrs. Iva Deveau, Chery1 Deveau, Ruth Gahagan of Caribou and Linda Bernard, Fort Fairfield.

The couple left on a wedding trip to Canada.

The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School, 1962, and attended the Eastern Maine.

General Hospital School of Nursing.

The bridegroom is a 1961graduate of Caribou High School and is serving with the Marine Corp, stationed at Camp Lejeune, N. C. The couple will reside in Jacksonville. N. C.
