Mars Hill Couple Marries In Full Gospel Assembly

MARS HILL -- Joanne Laree Durost, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Durost of Mars Hill, became the bride of Harold Everett Kinney, son of Mrs. Ella Kinney and the late Harold Kinney of Mars Hill, October 16, at the Full Gospel Assembly.

The Rev. Charles Flewelling Mrs. Ernest Sjoberg was the organist. Mrs. June Campbell, Mrs. Eva Steele, and Miss Delores Kingsbury were vocalists.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of peau de soie with chapel train. The basque bodice featured a scalloped sabrina neckline and long pointed sleeves. Her elbow length veil of illusion was attached to petal crown of seed pearls and sequins. She carried a white Bible centered with miniature carnations and satin streamers.

Mrs. June Campbell was the matron of honor and the bridesmaids were Joanne Mahan, Ella Boyd and Elaine Wilson.

Ellen Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilson was flower girl.

All of the bride's attendants wore floor - length gold brocade gowns with bell shaped skirts and fitted bodices. Their headpieces were gold brocade bows with matching face veils. They carried colonial bouquets of bronze poms.

Wallace Boyd was best man and ushers were Alfred Flewelling of Easton, Gordon Campbell and Melvin Guiggey. Paul Wilson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilson Sr. of Mars Hill, was the ring bearer.

A reception was held following the ceremony in the C. Hume Pierce Memorial gymnasium. Assisting were Mrs. Beulah Gillespie, Mrs. Faustina Burlock, Mrs. Beatrice Guiggey, Mrs. Deanna Collins and Miss Annie Straight.

Following a wedding trip to the southern part of the state, the couple will reside in Mars Hill.

The bride is a graduate Aroostook Central Institute and is employed by Agway, Inc., Presque Isle. The bridegroom also a graduate of Aroostook Central Institute and is employed by Zayre Department Store at Presque Isle.
