Washburn Church, Scene Of Hill-McCall Wedding

WASHBURN--The First Baptist Church of Washburn was the scene Friday evening of the wedding of Miss Martha McCall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dudley B. McCall of Washburn, to Thomas Mason Hill, Jr., son of Professor and Mrs. Thomas Hill of Winchester Mass. The Rev. Donald Switzer, pastor of the Conservative Baptist Church performed the ceremony, during which Miss Anna Thompson played the organ.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin with re-embroidered lace highlighting a scoop neckline, and chapel train. Her veil fell from a crown of seed pearls. She carried a cascade of white mums backed by tiny leaves.

Miss Joanne C, Hill of Winchester, Mass. was maid of honor. She wore a floor length gown of cranberry velvet with a matching crown and carried a crescent of carnations, poms and holly. Bridesmaids were Miss Wendy Witham, Bath; Miss Mary Carter and Miss Sarah Umphrey. They wore gowns like the maid of honor's and carried white fur muffs with holly.

Whitney Smith of Winchester, Mass. was best man and ushers were John Rollins, Peter Rollins, William McCall and Harry Lane McCall.

Assisting at the reception in Fellowship Hall of the church were Miss Belinda Page, Mrs. Ardis McCall, and Mrs. Donald Umphrey.

The bride is a graduate of Caribou High School and the University of Maine. The bride-groom is a graduate of Oberlin College, Ohio, and is managing editor of "Boston Magazine".

After a wedding trip by car to New York City, Mr. and Mrs. Hill will be a home at 102 Mt. Vernon Street, Boston, Mass. after Jan. 6.

Professor and Mrs. Hill entertained at a dinner, Dec. 20, at the Prestile Terrace for the wedding party and guests.
