CHERYL BROWN, PAUL RUSSELL MARRIED IN WASHBURN RITE

WASHBURN -- The First Baptist Church of Washburn was the scene June 18 of the wedding of Miss Cheryl Ann Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene B. Brown, and Pad Ernest Russell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Russell.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Donald Switzer. Soloist was Miss Sharon Sponberg.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace with a scoop neckline edged in seed pearls and a mock bolero bodice accented with silk organza. The midriff was caught in back by a bow with a detachable chapel length watteau train of silk organza. Her elbow length veil of three-tier silk illusion was attached to an organza pillbox with back bow trimmed with Alencon lace and pearls. She carried duchess glamelia and white gladiola with lace and streamers. The bride wore her grandmother of pearl necklace.

Mrs. Hary Turner was matron of honor. She wore a floor-length gown of hot pink silk organza over taffeta with empire waistline and A-line skirt. She wore an open pillbox head piece with a bow in back and carried a dark pink long-stemmed duchess rose.

Bridal attendants were Mrs. Larry Dugal, Bangor, Mrs. Darryl Sponberg and Miss Joanne Brown. Their gowns headpieces were like that of matron of honor.

Best man was Berton Sands and ushers were Ronald Tardif and Eugene Brown Jr.

A reception was held in the church dining room. Assisting were Miss Prudence Plissey, Mrs. Marie Beaulieu, Miss Susan Thompson, Mrs. Crystal Everett and Mrs. John Savage.

The bridal couple are graduates of Washburn High School. The bride will be a junior at Husson College in the fall. The bridegroom attended Valparaiso, Ind., Technical lnstitute and will be a senior at Husson College in the fall. He is employed by C. W. Staples, Presque Isle

The couple left on a wedding trip to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.
