Seasonal flowers and candelabra decorated the alter. Margaret Harris of Washburn played the traditional wedding march and accompanied Idella Fowler of Caribou, who sang "Together" and "Savior Like a Shepard Lead Us."
Carol Belanger, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She carried pink carnations.
Bridesmaids were Anita Sperrey of Washburn, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a blue nylon dress with matching headpiece, and Andre Parks of Caribou, cousin of the bridegroom, who wore a yellow nylon dress. They carried carnations which matched their dresses.
Jack Doody of Washburn was best man. Ushers were Paul and Llewellyn Sperrey, brothers of the bridegroom.
The bride was escorted by her father. Her gown was of white lace over taffeta with tiers of lace caught in a bow at the back, scalloped neckline, long pointed sleeves and sequins on the material. Her veil of lace was caught to a tiara and she carried a white Bible covered with red roses and streamers.
Miss Karen Sperrey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Sperrey of Washburn, was flower girl. Her dress was of pink satin and she wore a matching headpiece.
Jeffrey Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Allen, Jr., was ring bearer.
A reception was held in the vestry of the church which was decorated with white and red streamers, wedding bells and seasonal flowers.
Pauline Jacobs, sister of the bride, circulated the guest book. Sandra Sperrey, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, made and served the cake. Assisting with the serving were Amelia Doak, Diane MacDonald, Carla Martin. Arlene Sparks, Reyna Bell, Norma Gregg, Gaynol Tilley, Kay Adams and Donna Henderson. Arlene Bell, cousin of the bride, served punch. Clarice Leavitt, Norma Sperrey and Mary Sperrey presided at the gift table.
Miss Belanger is a senior at Caribou High School. Mr. Sperrey is a 1965 graduate of Washburn High School and is serving in the U.S. Army in Indiana.
