The Rev. Richard Greene, pastor, officiated, with the Rev. Lloyd Sparks, pastor of the Washburn Pentecostal Church offering prayer. Mrs. Lavenia Letno was organist and Miss Rhonda Greene, soloist.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of lace over taffeta with an apron of taffeta and lace. The gown had scalloped lace neck, pointed sleeves and a sequined bodice. Her veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls and teardrops. She carried a cascade of red roses.
Miss Susan Sweeney of Mars Hill was maid of honor. She wore a floor-length gown of yellow peau de soie with an empire waist and long sleeves. Her headpiece was a band of yellow rosebuds and she carried a single long stemmed red rose.
Mrs. Jerry Johnston and Miss Susan Fogg were bridesmaids. They wore matching gowns of aqua peau de soie with empire waists and long pointed sleeves. Their matching headpieces were a single rose of aqua peau de soie. They each carried a long stemmed red rose.
Miss Toni Perkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Perkins was flower girl. She wore a crown
similar to the bridesmaids and carried a basket of rose petals.
Terry Perkins, son of Mr. And Mrs. Donald Perkins was ring bearer. They are the twin brother and sister of the bride.
Richard Campbell of Lincoln was best man. Ushers were Bernard Johnson and Dale Campbell.
A reception was held following the wedding at the American Legion Hall. Assisting were the
American Legion Auxiliary, Miss Lynn Durost, Miss Carol Smith, Miss Lois Perkins, Mrs.
Dale Campbell, Mrs. Gloria Lento, Mrs. Richard Campbell, Miss Rhonda Greene, Mrs. Reta Cousins and Mrs. Chris Cousins.
The bride attended schools at Mars Hill and the bridegroom graduated from Washburn High
School and is employed at Washburn IGA.
