The couple was married at Jvarez, Mexico, March 12, [1968] and motored through Texas en route to Maine on their honeymoon.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School, Class of 1967, and prior to her marriage was employed by Converse of Presque Isle.
The bridegroom also attended Washburn High School before enlisting in the service. He holds the rank of specialist fourth class and has recently returned after an 8-month tour of duty in Bien Hoa, Vietnam, where he was a helicopter gunner attached to the Missile (Red Eye) Section at Fort Carson, he has re-enlisted and plans to go to Germany in October.
While in Maine, the couple was honored at a wedding reception at the American Legion Home in Caribou. The bride wore a white street length dress of cotton brocade gathered at the neckline, and three quarter length sleeves trimmed with tiny daisies. She wore a white lace circular chapel veil and a corsage of red sweetheart roses.
The couple's mothers wore turquoise blue whipped cream crepe dresses with corsages of pink and yellow poms.
Cake was made and served by Mrs. Edman Bubar, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Ruby Sands, another aunt of the bride, served refreshments, assisted by Mrs. Lloyd Maynard and Miss Helen Guerette. Misses Lois and Louise Doody, twin sisters of the bridegroom, circulated the guest book, while Misses Leann and Carla Pike presided at the gift table.
The couple has returned to Colorado Springs, Colo., where they will reside until October.
