Barbara Rockwell Weds In Candlelight Ceremony

Miss Barbara Jean Rockwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Rockwell of Washburn, became the bride of Ronald David Gallagher of Limestone in a double ring candlelight ceremony at the United Baptist Church in Caribou. The Rev. Newell Smith officiated. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Madeline Gallagher of Limestone.

Paul Saunders was organist and Mrs. Dale Smith was vocalist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length lace over satin gown with lace sleeves. The fitted bodice fell into a bell shaped skirt and her train, attached at the shoulders, was also of lace and satin. Her elbow length veil fell from a cluster of white pearls and small white satin hoops. She wore a single strand of pearls, a gift from the bride groom, and carried red sweetheart roses surrounded by carnations and ivy.

Nevella Somers of Caribou was maid of honor. She wore a French cut ruby empire waist gown with full length pink crepe skirt with matching headpiece. She carried a single long stemmed red rose.

Bridesmaids were Debra Rockwell, sister of the bride, Linda Drost of Washburn and Rose Tracy of Caribou. Their gowns were of hot pink chiffon over taffeta, full length style with empire waists and long sleeved jackets. They wore matching headpieces and each carried a long stemmed red rose.

Flower girl was Miss Linda Gallagher, niece of the bride-groom and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eslie Gallagher of Limestone. She wore a full length gown of lace over satin, identical to that of the bride, with matching veil. She carried a basket of red rose petals.

Eslie Gallagher, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Keith Rockwell, brother of the bride; Daniel Gallagher, brother of the bridegroom, and Robert Cameron of Washburn.

Joseph Rockwell, brother of the bride, was ring bearer.

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Rockwell chose a navy dress trimmed with white. She wore a corsage of pink carnations.

The bridegroom's mother chose a light blue lace dress with bell sleeves and also wore pink carnations.

A. reception was held at the church. Those assisting were Mrs. Emily Lloyd of Caribou, aunt of the bride, who poured punch, and Mrs. Rena Adams of Washburn, aunt of the bride-groom, who poured coffee.

After the traditional cutting of the first slice, the cake was cut by Mrs. Marjorie Levitt of Limestone, cousin of the bride-groom, and served by Kathy Somers of Caribou, Barbara and Ruth Brown of Woodland and Nancy Brewster of Caribou.

Also assisting at the bride's table were Mrs. Winnie Brown, Mrs. Arlene Doody, Mrs. Ethel Belmain, Mrs. Ellouise Somers and Miss Mable Doody.

Miss Katherine Doody, aunt of the bride, was in charge of the gift table, assisted by Deloris Jackson and Susan Drost. Miss Leotia Atwater was in charge of the guest book.

The bride is a 1967 graduate of Caribou high School and is employed by the Health and Welfare Department in Caribou.

The bridegroom was graduated from Limestone High School in 1961 and has served two years in the service and attended college for two years. He is engaged in farming.

After a two week honeymoon to New York, Virginia, South Carolina, and a week in Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Gallagher will be at home in Limestone.
