Cynthia Hallowell Marries At Candellight Ceremony

PERHAM -- Miss Cynthia Rae Hallowell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hallowell of Perham, became the bride of James T. Curry of Meredith, N.H., son of Mrs. Audrey Curry of South Portland and Albert Curry of Dayton, June 15 [1968] at a candlelight ceremony held at the First Baptist Church here.

The Rev. Rolland Clark officiated. Mrs. Ronald Dow was soloist and Mrs. Emma Dow was organist.

The bride wore an empire gown of organza and chantilly lace, fashioned with a full train. A cabbage rose held her bouffant veil. She carried a cascade of white mums and red roses.

The maid of honor was Miss Diane James of Washburn. The matron of honor was Mrs. Wanita Hallowell of Presque Isle. Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Russell of Fort Fairfield and Miss Kathleen Curry of South Portland. The flower girls were Miss Beverly Sherman and Miss Lisa McIntire.

The maid and matron of honor wore gowns of rose brocade and carried a light pink rose. The bridesmaids wore gowns of light pink brocade and each carried a dark pink rose.

The best man was Ronald Lavique of Boston, Mass. Ushers were Larry Hallowell of Presque Isle, Larry Wilcox of Washburn and Thomas Costello of Meredith, N. H.

The reception was held in the vestry of the church. Assisting were Mrs. Sandra Sherman, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Harris, Mrs. Penny Clark, Miss Sheila Patterson and Miss Carlene Bondeson.

Following a wedding trip to Niagara Falls via Quebec, the couple will reside at Scandia Park, Meredith, N.H.

The bride graduated from Washburn High School and attended Washington State College. She is a senior at Plymouth State College. Plymouth, N.H.

The bridegroom graduated from South Portland High School, and served in the Air Force. He attends the Electronic Computer Programming Institute and is employed at the Merideth News.
