Sandra Lee Adams Weds Washburn Man

Sandra Lee Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Adams of Mechanic St., Presque Isle, became the bride of Robert Lloyd Deeves, son of Mrs. Glenna Deeves and the late Merle Deeves of Washburn, Saturday, June 15, [1968] at the Episcopal Church with Rev. Gerard Rubino performing the double ring ceremony. Decorations included white gladiolas, snapdragons,

and baby's breath with each pew decorated with lilies of the valley and big white bows. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Vaughn Allen.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her A-line gown was of nylon lace over taffeta with long pointed sleeves. Her shoulder length veil hung from a tiara seeded with pearls. She carried a bouquet of white carnations with pink roses and streamers. Maid of honor, Cheryl Ames of Presque Isle, wore a light blue gown with matching headpiece. She carried a bouquet of blue carnations with blue streamers.

The mother of the bride was dressed in a mint green ensemble with white accessories and yellow roses.

Bridesmaids were Paula Peterson of Caribou, gowned in yellow with matching headpiece and yellow carnations, and Janis Adams, gowned in pink with matching headpiece and pink carnations. Best man was Dale Peterson of Caribou. Ushers were Andy Adams of Presque Isle and Victor Deeves of Caribou. Flower girl was Leah Lamereau dressed in white with pink headpiece and matching carnations, and Ricky Canon was ring bearer.

Following the wedding a reception took place at the Masonic Lodge at 8 p.m. with white and blue streamers for decorations. Cathy Adams was in charge of the guest book and Margaret Adams, Debbie Ames and Claudette Deeves were in charge of the gift table. Assisting in receiving and serving were Earlyne Lamoreau, Sharon Deeves, Claudia Stoddard and Tina Begin. The wedding cake was made by Joan Garland.

For their short wedding trip to Portage Lake the bride wore a yellow knit dress with white lace and matching accessories. The couple will reside at Washington D.C., where the groom is employed at the Walter Reed Hospital. The bride graduated June 14 from Presque Isle High School, and the groom attended Washburn High School.
