WASHBURN -- Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Brown have announced the engagement of their daughter, Joanne Ruth, to David Lavway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Lavway of Washburn.

Miss Brown, a graduate of Washburn District High School, is attending Husson College.

Mr. Lavway is a graduate of Washburn District High School and of the University of Maine. He is employed by the Soil Conservation Service, Department of Agriculture, Orono.

A July wedding is planned.
