Lorraine Young Is Wed In Rites At St. Mary's

WASHBURN - Miss Lorraine Marie Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Young of Washburn, was united in marriage to Sp4 Adrian Arnold Drost, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Drost of Presque Isle at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Presque Isle on May 17 [1969].

Rev. Reginald Brissette officiated. Daney Ladner was the organist.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length, empire waist, chiffon gown with wrist-length lace sleeves and a lace train attached at the neckline. Her veil of lace bordered net was shoulder length.

The maid of honor was Miss Leann Pike of Perharn. Other attendants were Miss Carlene Bondeson of Perham, Miss Jean Goodine, Miss Patsy hlartirl and Miss Santlra Ireland of Washburn.

All of the attendants wore floor length gowns of taffeta, nylon and crepe, the maid of honor wore light blue and carried a long stemmed yellow rose.

The other attendants wore gowns of blue and yellow and carried long stemmed yellow roses. They all wore bows to match their attire

The best man was Roger Drost of Presque Isle. Ushers were Lester Drost of Presque Isle and Allen Young of Washburn. Bruce Tracey of Houlton was ring bearer.

A reception was held at the Odd Fellows Hall in Caribou.

Assisting were Ruthie Wardwell, Ellen Jordan, Rosa Drost, Wendy Young, Elaine Young and Brenda Tilley.

The bride is a senior at Washburn District High School.

The bridegroom is a 1968 graduate of Presque Isle High School and is serving in the U.S. Army, having recently returned from Vietnam. At the end of his furlough, the bridegroom will go to California and will be joined by the bride following her graduation.
