Miss Deno Alane Libby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milford L. Libby, Crouseville, became the bride of Roderic O. Gove, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gove, Caribou. Aug. 16 [1969] at the
Advent Christian Church.
Rev. Robert Hett officiated at the double ring ceremony. and organist was Mrs. Jack Stoddard. Soloist was Rev. Hett singing "Each For The Other" and "The Wedding Prayer."
A candelabrum with baskets of white and pink flowers accenting each side of the altar and window sill bouquets of tiny pink zinnias and ivy were setting for the evening service.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an empire gown of bridal satin, featuring long bell sleeves and a shoulder train trimmed with wide bands of lace. Her short veil of bridal illusion was attached to a lace and organza covered pillbox. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses, white carnation and ivy.
Miss Jean Clark maid of honor, wore an empire gown of white embroidered dotted Swiss and pink crepe, featuring elbow-length bell sleeves. She carried colonial bouquet of pink carnations, white baby chrysanthemums and baby breath.
Bridesmaids were Miss Bonnie Beveridge of Caribou, Mrs. Melvin Ferguson of Millinocket, and Miss Lynn Flewelling of Crouseville. They wore gowns identical to the maid of honor's and carried colonial bouquets of pink carnations and chrysanthemums.
Misses Laurie and Lisa Ouellette, cousins of the bride, were the flower girls attired in empire white embroidered Dotted Swiss gowns accented with mint green satin ribbons. They carried baskets of pink and white miniature carnations and chrysanthemums.
Ring bearer was K. C. Ouellette, cousin of the bride.
Serving as best man was the bridegroom's brother, Eric Gove. Ushers were Duane Walton, J.R. Beveridge, and Derek Libby, brother of the bride.
For the occasion the bride's mother chose a mint green crepe dress with mint green and white lace coat and pink sweetheart rose corsage. The bridegroom's mother chose a power blue crepe dress with matching blue lace coat and wore a red sweetheart rose corsage.
The reception was held at the Mission Building in Crouseville.
Mrs. Arthur Gove and Mrs. Duane Walton were in charge of the gift table while Miss Prudence Nickerson circulated the guest book. Others serving were Mrs. Philip Ouellette, cousin of the bride. Mrs. Eugene Graham, aunt of the bridegroom and Mrs. Sarah Taylor. The Evening Circle Mission Ladies catered.
The bride, a graduate of Washburn High School, attended Burdett College, Boston.
Mr. Gove graduated from Caribou High School. He is presently serving with the U.S. Navy and will be stationed at Quonset Point, R.I.
The bride chose a beige dress with beige and pink floral coat and pink corsage as her traveling ensemble to N.H. and Vt.
