PERHAM -- The marriage of Miss Joan Edith Griffeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd R. Griffeth of Woodland, to Thomas Michael Heath of Portsmouth, Va., son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Heath of Chesapeake, Va., took place Aug. 30 [1969] at the Perham Baptist Church.
The Rev. Reland P. Clark officiated. Soloist was Miss Rhonda Bengston and organist, Miss Sylvia Blackstone.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of lace and carried red and white roses.
Mrs. Peggy Belanger of Caribou was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Alana Soucie of Caribou, Donna Griffeth and Marilyn Griffeth, both of Woodland. Flower girl was Ellen Griffeth.
Stephen J. Kady of Edison, N.J, was best man. Ushers were Lewis Weather of Loring Air Force Base, Danny Belanger of Caribou and Lewis Griffeth of Woodland. Ring bearer was Neil Griffeth.
A reception was held at the IOOF Hall, Caribou, after which the couple left on a trip to Bar Harbor.
They will reside at the Lazy Acre Trailer Park, Caribou.
The bride is a Caribou High School graduate and is a bookkeeper at Northern National Bank. Mr. Heath graduated from Deep Creek High School and is with the Air Force stationed at Loring AFB.
