The Rev. Robert Hett officiated. Mrs. Jack Stoddard was organist and Steven Ames was soloist.
The bride wore a gown of satin and daisy Chantilly lace, made by her mother. Her short pouf veil fell from a headpiece of pearl studded daisies. She carried a colonial bouquet of white daisies and yellow glad blossoms.
Miss Martha Bull was maid of honor. She wore a moss green linen gown. Bridesmaids were Miss Susan Davis and Miss Hollie Umphrey. Miss Lana Flewelling was junior bridesmaid. They wore yellow linen gowns and carried daisies and yellow and bronze mums.
Jasper Umphrey was best man. Ushers were Paul Umphrey, Douglas Flanagin, and Frederic Flewelling.
Miss Colleen Conley was flower girl. She wore a moss green linen gown. Neal Flewelling of Bridgewater was ring bearer.
A reception was held in the Mission building. Assisting were Mrs. Deno Gove, Mrs. Rowena Conley, Miss Sue Conners, Mrs. Ellen Flewelling, Mrs. Donna Hett, Mrs. Cindy Logan, and the Evening Mission Circle ladies.
Following a wedding trip to Quebec, the couple will reside at McManus Street, Washburn.
Mrs. Umphrey, a graduate of Washburn Administrative District High School, attended New Hampshire College of Accounting and Commerce. She is employed as private secretary at the International Paper Company, Presque Isle.
Mr. Umphrey is a 1967 graduate of Washburn Administrative High School and a 1969 graduate of the University of Maine. He is engaged in farming and is employed by the Washburn Oil Company.
