Shirley Tarbox Weds Ronald Stanley Rand

WASHRURN -- Miss Shirley Kay Tarbox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tarbox, became the bride of Ronald Stanley Rand, son of Mrs. Clayton Langley, of Presque Isle, on Feb. 7 [1970] at the Washburn Pentecostal Church.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. David Asel. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mrs. Richard Campbell was soloist and Mrs. Kenneth Harris was organist.

The bride wore a gown of alencon lace over taffeta with chapel length train. Her headpiece was an alencon lace crown with seed pearls and crystals attached to a silk illusion veil. She carried white and pink chrysanthemums.

The maid of honor, Miss Muriel Simard, wore a yellow lace gown with skirt of organza over taffeta. Her bouquet was yellow and white chrysanthemums.

Stephen Rand of Presque Isle was best man.

A wedding reception was held at the Mapleton Hall. Assisting were Mrs. Coy Doody of Bangor, Mrs. Elwood Doody of Perham, Mrs. Herbert Tarbox, Miss Betty Tarbox, Miss Brenda Tarbox Mrs. Merlin Corey and Mrs. Violet McClellan.

The bride is a student at Washburn District High School. The bridegroom attended school in Presque Isle and graduated from the Royal Youth Corp., University of Maine, in 1969.

The couple will reside at the C and E apartments on Main Street.
